At NYU Steinhardt we celebrate the creative spirit.

Since 1890, our school has been a place where people with ideas and vision come to fulfill their educational aspirations. Our alumni are artists, scholars, social activists, media theorists, educators, performers, nutritionists, and therapists—people applying their talents to where they are needed most.

The NYU Steinhardt Vision Award recognizes individuals whose creativity, passion, and innovative thinking have shaped the American experience. This year, we honor philanthropists Linda and Arthur Carter for their generous gifts and passionate advocacy on behalf of the arts, children, and education, and Paul Simon for his humanitarian outreach and distinctive musical vision, which continues to inspire Steinhardt students and people around the world.
