Larry Daffin

Larry Daffin is a first year doctoral student in the Educational Leadership program as well as the Graduate Assistant for the Department of Educational Leadership. Prior to attending NYU, Larry served as a high school Administrator in Houston, Texas, and as a math teacher and coach in San Antonio, Texas. Larry graduated from the United States Military Academy with a bachelor's degree in American Legal Studies (FOS), and earned a master's degree in Educational Administration from Texas A&M University, Kingsville. Larry is a decorated Iraqi war veteran and is married with twin girls and a son. His research interests are privatization and the achievement gap.

 

Adriana Villavicencio

Adriana Villavicencio is a doctoral candidate in the Educational Leadership Program and a research assistant under the direction of Dr. Janelle Scott. Prior to attending NYU, Adriana served as a department chair at a charter high school in East Oakland and as an English teacher in East New York and Bushwick. She also spent a year in Banglalore, India developing a secondary program for a start-up K-12 school. Adriana graduated from Columbia University with a bachelor's degree in English and earned a master's degree in English Education from Teachers College, Columbia University. Her research interests include privatization, urban high school reform, and charter schools.
