Elizabeth McAlpin: Adjunct Instructor
Elizabeth McAlpin is Assistant Director of Learning and Curricular Development Global Innovation & Learning group at NYU IT. She leads a team of instructional technologists who work with faculty to reimagine their courses with innovative pedagogy using technology and media. She joined NYU 2 years ago from Kaplan, where she was a Senior Instructional Designer in course design, multimedia learning, and product development. She had the same title when she worked at Columbia University Teachers College. She has over fifteen years of experience creating effective and engaging online, hybrid, and face-2-face learning environments, digital materials, and educational software. Her undergraduate degree is from Denison University, and she holds an Ed.M. in instructional technology and media from Columbia Teachers College, an M.A. in educational communication and technology from NYU, where she is currently pursuing her doctorate. In addition to her full time position she also teaches as an adjunct at NYU. Her interests reside in effective educational design, innovative pedagogy and assessment, and educational technology and media for all kinds of learning experiences.
