April 6, 2009 - Inter-University Colloquium presents Dr. Efrain C. Azmitia
The Inter-University Colloquium series, hosted by NYU Alpha Chapter, Delta Pi Epsilon, invites you to a talk by Dr. Efrain C. Azmitia on "Making New Connections In An Aging Brain."
Dr. Azmitia is Professor of Biology, Neural Science at New York University. He has been Adjunct Professor of Psychiatry at NYU Medical Center since 1999 and Fellow, Center for Neural Science at NYU. He studied at Washington University, St. Louis, Missouri (BS) and Cambridge University, Cambridge, England (MA). He obtained his PhD from The Rockefeller University, NY. He did his Postdoc at the National Institute of Mental Health, Washington, DC and the National Institute for Medical Research, Mill Hill, London, UK.

October 7, 2008 – Inter-University Colloquium presents Professor Knud Illeris
On October 7, 2008 at 6 PM, our colleagues at Columbia University, as part of the inter-university colloquium series, have invited DPE Alpha Chapter to a talk by Knud Illeris that they will be hosting. Professor Illeris is one of the foremost thinkers today in workplace learning. He is a professor of lifelong learning at the Danish University of Education in Copenhagen and his work includes The Three Dimensions of Learning Kreiger Publishing, 2004). After the lecture, let’s meet informally to catch up and do some "light" networking.

Awards will be presented at the 2008 Holiday Party.

Alpha Chapter DPE invites you to come and celebrate at our annual holiday party. Share in the fun, laughter and joy this holiday season with fellow students, alumni, friends and family.

- Location: Kimball Hall Student Lounge
There will be a "Gift Swap" exchange at the party. Please bring a wrapped gift (up-to-$10 in value) to participate. Gifts will be distributed with a random number drawing. Be funny or be merry - no kidding this was an absolute hoot last year. No gift cards are allowed (too easy and not so much fun)! Hosted by the Steinhardt Program in Higher and Postsecondary Education, the Inter-University Consortium (NYU, Columbia, Fordham), and Alpha Chapter, Delta Pi Epsilon, Graduate Honorary in Business Education
What is learning? Why is learning central to everyone involved in education as well as society itself? Professor Peter Jarvis has spent his lifetime answering this question. Discuss this question and others at an interactive forum as NYU teams up with our colleagues at Columbia University and Fordham University to host this distinguished scholar. All are welcome to attend and refreshments will be served.
Professor Jarvis has written and edited about 30 books and 200 papers and chapters in books on adult education and learning, continuing professional education, nurse education, primary school education, distance education, third age education. His International Dictionary of Adult and Continuing Education is the only international dictionary of adult and continuing education ever published, and he is the founding editor of The International Journal of Lifelong Education.
