82 Washington Square East, 4th Floor As Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Ted Magder leads the school’s academic offerings, working collaboratively with the Dean and Department Chairs to ensure a coherent and innovating curriculum at the undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral levels. Dean Magder oversees the full academic lifecycle inclusive of academic programs, fieldwork, student affairs, admission, enrollment, and marketing. The scope of his role includes academics at the Washington Square campus in New York City, NYU Global campuses, as well as online and technology-enhanced education. NYU Steinhardt has close to 6,000 students and nearly 300 full-time faculty.Dean Magder’s research focuses on the legal and regulatory regimes that influence the flow of both media and culture across borders. He has been honored with teaching awards from the Steinhardt School and York University in Toronto, Canada. In 2012, he was one of six recipients of NYU’s University Distinguished Teaching Award.
